The Katsina State Government has taken a significant step toward enhancing societal morals by recruiting 369 youths to serve in the Hisbah Corps. These recruits, drawn from the 34 local government areas of the state, have commenced specialized training under the supervision of the Civil Defence Corps at their facility located along Batsari Road in Katsina city.  

During a recent visit to the training camp, the Commander-General of Hisbah in the state, Dr. Aminu Usman (popularly known as Abu Ammar), commended the recruits for their dedication and addressed them on the importance of their roles. He emphasized unity, discipline, and adherence to Islamic principles, as the recruits included individuals from diverse Islamic sects such as Izala, Darika, Shi'a, and Qur’aniyyun.  

Dr. Abu Ammar reminded the participants of the sacred nature of their duties, stating, “You are the vanguard of Islam and the first-ever Hisbah Corps established in Katsina State. Your mission is to uphold righteousness and combat social vices across the state. Despite your different sact backgrounds, this noble cause unites us all. Work with sincerity and remember that this task is a service to Allah, aimed at fulfilling the divine command of enjoining good and forbidding evil.”  

Following his motivational address, the Commander-General and his entourage toured the camp to ensure the smooth running of the training program and address any logistical concerns.  

The training, which commenced on Monday, is scheduled to last for 14 days. It is designed to equip the recruits with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their duties as Hisbah officers. By the end of the program, they are expected to fully understand their responsibilities and be ready to contribute to the moral and spiritual development of Katsina State.
